The Consular Department of the Embassy is responsible for Consular Services in Iran, such as issuance of Dutch passports and emergency travel documents, issuance of visas, legalisation of documents and, if needed, provision of assistance to Dutch citizens in emergency cases.

Opening hours Dutch Citizen Services

Window hours for renewel Dutch passports: Sunday to Thursday, 09:30am -11:00am hrs. Other Dutch Citizen Services: Sunday to Wednesday, 07:30 - 04.pm hrs. Thursday 07:30am - 01:30 pm hrs. 
Only in case of an emergency outside office hours, Dutch citizens may contact the duty officer: +98 935 2111299.
Visa questions will not be answered.


Opening hours Visa Department

You need an appointment to apply for a visa. To make an appointment, please call our Visa Hotline at: 021-23660444 on Sunday-Wednesday 13:30-15:30. You may call this number also for questions regarding visa applications or check our website.

You are requested to cancel your appointment by sending an email to mailaddress  teh-sta@minbuza.nl if you know you can't make your appointment to enable other applicants to apply as well. If no cancellation is made the Embassy cannot make again an appointment on short notice; your new request will be handled only after all other requests for appointments have been met. In the summertime the waiting time for an appointment can amount to two months or longer.

07:30 - 08:30 am    Delivery of missing documents for visa applications done earlier
07:30 - 08:30 am    Submission of passports for issuance of approved visa

As per 01.07.2009

08:30 - 11:00 am   Appointments for business visa, visa for professional purpose and OCT.

After submission of your application the procedure can take from 2,5 weeks to 3 to 6 weeks up to 2 months. Incomplete files, too many missing documents, might result in not accepting the visa application. You will be requested to return with a complete file on another date.

Opening hours for legalization

You may submit your documents for legalizations on Sunday to Thursday between 07:30-09:30 (at the visa-section).
You may collect your legalized document that same day at 14:30 hrs (on Thursdays at 12:30 hrs).
